OFFICIAL TRANSLATIONS IN THE NETHERLANDS
About Me
Nice to meet you, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me.
My name is Cecilia Iris Baldo, and I am a sworn translator officially registered in the Netherlands (Wbtv), providing certified translations that are accepted worldwide.
My translations are fully recognized by Dutch authorities - including the IND, courts, municipalities, and universities - with my signature only, and, with the appropriate legalization and/or apostille, they are valid and
accepted internationally.
I have been working as a
general translator since 2014.
My sworn translator degree was issued in Argentina in 2018. In 2023, my qualification and experience were officially recognized in the Netherlands, leading to my registration as a sworn translator under Dutch law.
Languages have always been more than a profession for me - they are a way of understanding the world through different lenses. This passion, combined with a strong legal and academic background, has shaped my professional path and continues to guide my work every day.
I bring
over 10 years of professional translation experience,
gained while living and working in different countries and multilingual environments. Throughout my career, I have continuously invested in education, specialization, and professional development, ensuring that my work meets the highest standards of accuracy, legal validity, and clarity.
Language Combinations & Services
I work bidirectionally, translating
from English into Spanish and from Spanish into English.
I position myself as a general sworn translator, with a strong focus on legal and official documentation.
The documents I most frequently translate include:
-
Immigration documents
-
Birth, marriage and death certificates
-
Diplomas and academic transcripts
-
Legal documents
-
Court judgments
-
Contracts
-
Medical documents
Each certified translation includes my official signature,
and I apply a stamp to each and every document.
My signature is legally recognized, and my translations comply with all formal requirements for official use in the Netherlands and abroad.
Education & Professional Background
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics (Sworn Translation), a Master's degree in Education, and have completed extensive seminars and professional workshops throughout my career. My linguistics degree is officially recognized in the Netherlands as partially equivalent to an HBO Modern Languages and partially equivalent to a HBO Law degree, and I also completed multiple subjects in Argentinian Law.
My vast experience working as a Language Teacher and Professor (English and Spanish) helped me perfect my knowledge in those languages.
In parallel, I actively work as an AI Implementation Specialist in the Public Sector within the EU framework, which strengthens my analytical skills, precision, and understanding of complex regulatory and legal environments.
I lived in Argentina for 25 years and have been based in the Netherlands for over 7 years, allowing me to work fluently across legal systems, cultures, and administrative frameworks.
Values, Confidentiality & Working Style
Confidentiality, seriousness, respect, efficiency, speed, and precision are central to my work. On top of the basic respect and personalized attention each client deserves, I strictly comply with GDPR requirements, and I never share client documents with third parties. Every assignment is handled with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
Clients value my fast turnaround times,
clear communication, and step-by-step guidance,
particularly when navigating unfamiliar Dutch or international procedures.
A Personal Note
Having gone through the process of changing homelands myself, I understand how complex and overwhelming legal and administrative systems can feel.
That personal experience is a strong motivation behind my work.
Knowing that my signed translations help others relocate, study, reunite with family, or build a new life abroad — smoothly and successfully — gives my work deep meaning.
Practical Details
